Feeding strawberries – how to do it correctly in order to have a good harvest

To get a good harvest of strawberries, you need to feed them three times a year.

First feeding

In the spring, cut off damaged strawberry leaves and feed it with a complex mineral fertilizer, 1 tablespoon per 10 liters of water. l. nitroammophosk. Also, you can use organic fertilizers, dilute mullein 1:10 or chicken droppings 1:12 with water. Water 0.5 liters of solution under each strawberry bush.

Second feeding

At the beginning of budding and ripening of strawberries, feed them with potassium nitrate, wood ash or chicken manure diluted in water. During this period, it is desirable to treat strawberry bushes to increase yield with a complex of trace elements, add a small amount of boric acid to 10 liters of water.

The third feeding

After harvesting and removing old and damaged leaves, feed strawberries with a complex of organic and mineral fertilizers. Dilute 2 tablespoons in 10 liters of water. l. nitroammophosk and 1 glass of ash.

At the beginning of August, feed strawberries with a solution of urea, 30 grams per 10 liters of water. This is done so that the plant can lay more flower buds for the next season. Then pour plain water over the strawberries.

Feeding strawberries in the spring

Spray strawberries with a mixture of trace elements in the spring. To do this, make a solution of ammonium molybdenum, manganese and boric acid. Take two grams of each component and dilute in 10 liters of warm water. Or buy a ready-made complex of balanced trace elements in a specialized store. Such a fertilizer can increase the strawberry yield by 30%.
